Would you like to be Ocho's new alto?

We are currently looking for an experienced singer to join Ocho as an Alto. Experience in ensemble or choral singing would be an advantage, Ocho practices on Tuesday evenings at a venue on the Leicestershire/Staffordshire border and sing a variety of concerts and also enter some vocal competitions. If you are interested, you can call Derek on 07769 226650 for an informal chat or complete our application form here

Sadly, Ocho is saying 'Goodbye' to our lovely alto, Megan Maddock, as she moves on to pastures new. Megan has been an integral part of the Ocho 'family' as a brilliant alto and has experienced many competition wins and fun concerts with us. All of Ocho wish to say a huge 'thank you' to Meg for all of her love, support and vocal contribution over the past years and wish her well for the future. Perhaps it should be more of an 'au revoir' than a 'goodbye' as Meg will be staying in touch with us all as part of the extended 'Ocho family'. Thank you Meg ....... and we wish you well xx

Ocho

and

Silk-O-phonics

Ocho are delighted to be welcoming a German Vocal group 'Silk-O-phonics' to the East Midlands at the end of May this year. The two groups will be singing joint concerts at three venues in the area in an initiative supported by the Leicester/Krefeld Twinning organisation.

Silk-O-phonics are a jazz/pop 'a cappella' choir so you can bet that the programme for the concerts will be varied and very enjoyable. More details will be made available in due course but the concert dates for your diaries are:

Friday 30th May 7.30pm St Mary's Church, Church Road, Rolleston on Dove, DE13 9BE

Saturday 31st May 3.00pm The Leicester Guildhall, Guildhall Lane, Leicester, LE1 5FQ

Saturday 31st May 7.30pm St Margaret of Antioch Church, Church Street, Crick, NN6 7TP

The programmes for the concerts have already been developed and will involve songs being sung by the individual vocal ensembles and then during the second half of the concert, the groups will come together to celebrate the universal joy of singing. Music will include a few sacred items and be mixed with a wide variety of music by such as Queen, Coldplay, Adele, some folk songs and even a couple of show songs!!!!! A veritable 'pot pourri' of music .... all sung to the highest possible standard.

Information about tickets will be available in the near future but for a British/German extravaganza, make sure you put the dates in your diary!
