As we move through this special 10th Anniversary year,  Ocho is very ambitious for the future and is planning some exciting performances and adventures! For 2023, these include Summer Concerts, a concert at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, a concert at the National Memorial Arboretum and two concerts in Germany at Christmas time.

However, with most of the group also holding down full time jobs, there have been a few occasions where we have been unable to do all that we can or we should like to. So to allow for more flexibility and to pursue the wider range of engagements that we seek, we have decided to expand the 8 singers to a 'family' of 12. This will allow for more performances but on each occasion, only 8 will sing ..... thus preserving our 'Ocho' ethos! We have already recruited an additional alto and this indeed saved one of our Christmas Concerts when an Ocho member tested positive with the dreaded Covid 24 hours prior to a concert. So we are now looking for an additional soprano, tenor and a bass, to join our family.

We have great fun singing but also look to achieve as high a standard as possible so we are looking for people with experience in choral or ensemble singing and the ability to 'pick up' music relatively quickly. Ocho is known for its wide ranging repertoire and one minute you can be singing Bruckner and the next minute, Stevie Wonder or Billy Joel!

We practice on a Tuesday evening in the Barrow on Trent area 8-10pm with singers attending as many practices as possible.

In order to give anyone interested a 'taster' , we shall be holding an informal 'Open Evening' where people can come along and meet the team, have some drinks and nibbles and of course, have a little sing with us.
